HEADACHE MANAGEMENT

It is estimated by WHO that headache incidence among adult population is about 50 %. Up to 4 % of global population suffer from headache during 15 or more days monthly.

The situation is compounded by unmeasured abuse of modern communications tools: cell phones, PCs, gadgets; stressful life and other factors.

Headache is a global challenge affecting people irrespective of their age, race, income level, and geographical region.

Unluckily, headache is underestimated, unidentifiable, and is not treated as appropriate.

It is no coincidence that League of Neurologists “The Institute of Neurology named after Smagul Kayshibayev” beats the alarm brining up a problem of migraine on a nationwide scale. Primary objective of the project consists in development and introduction of procedure for case management in patients with headache in RoK, assessment of migraine incidence in the structure of headaches with another etiology, development and introduction of efficient procedures for diagnostics and treatment of patients with headache.

Therefore, our company and the League of Neurologists of Kazakhstan launched joint project “Headache Management”. The project provides for establishment of a special neurological center for follow-up of patients with headache in Almaty, patient screening in Kazakh cities, migraine register creation, preventive services, pharmaceutical treatment efficiency assessment. We hope that through our joint efforts, our patients can receive effective treatment and significantly improve their quality of life.
